Provide a Legal Right to Access Certain Services Without a Digital Device.
We are living through one of the most profound shifts in modern life. From classrooms to hospitals, from public transport to banking, digital access has become not only the norm but often the requirement. And yet, in every sector of society—education, healthcare, the arts, and even within our own families—we are seeing the emotional, mental, physical and spiritual cost of this transformation.
Digital access has become the norm. But at what cost?
For years, I’ve explored these issues through every tool I have—song, stage, screen and story—through my heart-work, Super Connected™. What began as an album and film has become a growing conversation about digital wellbeing, and the choices we’re rapidly losing.
This is not about resisting technology
It’s about making sure we remember how we began, at the same time as looking forward. Like the place of my roots, Soho, as it once was: community cohesion meant past, present and future all rubbed along together.
That’s why I’ve started this petition—to protect our right to live in a society that values both digital and non-digital ways of life. With Super Connected™ going on tour this year across the UK, Kate and I will be meeting audiences in real, smartphone-free spaces. We’ll be bringing the petition with us.
The parents, teachers and health professionals we speak with each night tell us the same thing: this needs to be addressed now.
Some may feel this is an over-reaction. But why don’t we make sure that it’s always an over-reaction? By passing legislation that protects an individual’s right to control the dial between digital and non-digital life. With Big Tech advancing at speed and its influence over governments growing, now is the moment to ask the British Government to put in safeguards—before we no longer have the choice to ask at all. If this resonates with you, please sign and share the petition.
This is not just about policy—it’s about protecting our human right to choose,
or refuse to be Super Connected. Please sign the petition.
See you at the next Super Connected live event.
With love and gratitude,
Tim Arnold
